Well, the time to leave for STF has finally arrived.. although i never felt like the last year really ended.. all seems like one smooth continuation of life.

Bags are packed, tickets are bought, all is well.

It's a bit sad that I'm the only person taking this flight. Only bc going to stf i mean... apparently all others were not as cheap as me and decided to go on the more expensive morning flight. But getting to stansted in the morning would've been quite difficult for me.
Meh.. it's no reason to become sad really... not when compared to world hunger or .. yeah...

Anyway, i have other things to do. All of you heading out for your first year... don't trust the list of requierments... i don't know what it's like this year, but last year it sucked. Bring alot more than 8 pairs of socks, you don't need that many tshirts, thermal underware is very necessary depending where you end up goin, ski pants are also really good... i should have probably made an official "Davi's advice for 1st years" entry, but now is too late...

Well all the best to everyone for the coming year,
with love,
Davi

Ok, so the time has come for me to make an entry about our time in Iceland...
It's a very interesting place... very modern and at the same time incredibly ancient..

Little facts about Iceland:
- It's cold.
- Most common meeting place for people is the local pool/bath houses.
- It runs on volcanoes (geothermal water is the source of all the electricity, hot water, and heating).
- The hot water smells like eggs (sulfur).
- Fishing is one of the main trades.
- Average moral level seemed a bit iffy.
- Alcoholics R' Us. Usually due to the following:
- A lot of people suffer from depression (usually during the winter due to the lack of sunlight), this included myself to a certain extent since Daniela wasn't there.
- People sleep on average until 10am-1pm. Knocking at someone's door at 10pm is normal. During the summer even 12 is ok.
- Everyone that travels there catches a cold.
- Icelanders fish&kill sharks and bury them for 3 months to rot and dry, then chop them into little pieces and sell them to unsuspecting tourists.
- Half of the population lives in the capital.
- People don't have last names. Each person is know as: (First name) (Father's name)son, or if they are a woman: (First name) (Father's name)dottir. For example: Jack Markson.
- 90% of the people in Reykjavík speak English, in addition to Icelandic. A lot of people also speak Danish.
- The sand is black (Thanks Vicky, I didn't really notice it because in Cameroon the sand is also black for the same reason, so i'm used to it )
There are many others... I'll update if i remember.

So I haven't made an entry in a really long time...

Let's see...  Last time I updated I was still in Ireland... good times...

From Ireland I went to England for 2 weeks and participated on a service project with Service for Peace to help a comunity in the outskirts of London.

From there I went back to Switzerland and spent about 40 days all over the German and Italian (ciao!) parts. It's quite different from the French part which I was previously in. For example, they don't pretend not to speak english like the frenchies did.

Yup, after Switzerland I stoped by in Germany to make a couple of preparations then headed off to Korea, to participate in the STF-Assembly, matching, and blessing by TF.
Really cool experiences, met alot of old friends who I hadn't seen in years, Including ppl I knew from Brazil, USA, and Cameroon.
Big  to Chark, Wade, Jon, Jonathan, Jeremy + the Carlsons, Theo Wilson, Chris, Paul, Soo Young, Hyun Shik, Heun Joo, Alex Ward, Il Shim, Tokusei's sister, I mean... I can't even name everyone...

The time spent in Korea was amazing... can't even describe it.

So for the past 3 weeks I've been in Iceland. I'll put up some pictures of that when I can.

Currently I'm spending 2 weeks at home before going off again.

Sorry about the lack of content in this entry... hope the pictures make up for it.

London was great. I came back Friday night.
